Rev. Fr. Joseph Rodem C. Ramos was ordained priest on November 8, 1993 at the Metropolitan Cathedral of San Sebastian, Lipa City. The first child of Spouses Pedro and Democreta Ramos, he was born on October 7, 1967, at Fernando Air Base, Lipa City. He was honed to be a spiritually and morally upright individual at Canossa Academy, a Catholic school in Lipa City run by the Canossian Sisters, where he studied elementary. He continued his formative years as a young seminarian at St. Francis de Sales Minor Seminary, Lipa City (High School), then finished AB-Philosophy at St. Francis de Sales Major Seminary, Marawoy, Lipa City. He proceeded to St. Alphonsus School of Theology at Lucena City for his theological studies preparatory to priesthood.
Fr. Rodem was assigned as Parochial Vicar at St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Lobo, Batangas, and St. Francis Xavier Parish in Nasugbu, Batangas. In October 1996, he was assigned to the Cathedral Parish of San Sebastian, Lipa City, also as Parochial Vicar. But here it was where he was also given a major post in the Archdiocese of Lipa. He was designated Director of the Lipa Archdiocesan Social Action Commission (LASAC) in the Year 2000 and has held the post until the present.
A priest who is truly a gift of Christ to the communities constituting the proposed Parish of Mary, Mediatrix of All Grace, Fr. Rodem is proving to be most befitting of the appointment to build this local Church of God. He inspires the local sambayanan to really work hard to accomplish the purpose within the shortest possible time. He travelled to Europe, US and Canada to raise funds, requested, nay, pressed sponsors and benefactors to give more than they ordinarily would to speedily increase the initial funds necessary to start construction of the proposed parish church building. With his innate charisma and persuasive talks, in formal or informal forums, and with much prayer and spiritual fervor, and the guidance of the Blessed Mother, the proposed parish is gradually seeing the light of fruition.
